We concentrate on offering a variety of simple, affordable financing options designed to meet the needs of the majority of borrowers. Plaza has been in business since December, 2000, and manages an extensive system of regional loan centers from its San Diego, California Corporate Headquarters. We are licensed to fund loans in most states.

Meet Plaza's Management Team


Kevin Parra is a co-founder, a director and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Plaza. He has over 26 years of mortgage banking experience. Before co-founding Plaza, Mr. Parra was Senior Vice President/Divisional Director for New America Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aegis Mortgage Corporation, where he was responsible for the production and operations of seven branch offices on the West Coast from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California. Mr. Parra was also the co-founder of Avalon Mortgage Corporation, a mortgage brokerage firm located in San Diego, California, which he has since sold. Previously, Mr. Parra was a regional manager for a wholesale branch, was involved in national strategic planning for Fleet Mortgage Corp., and was manager of the National Correspondent Lending Division of Plaza Home Mortgage Bank (an unrelated entity). Mr. Parra has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Services, and a Master's Degree in Real Estate, both from San Diego State University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the California Mortgage Bankers Association and on the Advisory Council for the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). 

James Cutri is a co-founder, a director and Executive Vice President of National Production of Plaza. Responsible for the company's loan production strategy, Mr. Cutri works directly with Plaza Regional Managers nationwide to build and sustain market share in the respective regions. Prior to co-founding Plaza, Mr. Cutri was a Wholesale Account Executive for New America Financial, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aegis Mortgage Corporation. Previously, Mr. Cutri was a retail loan officer for both Avalon Mortgage Corporation and Fleet Mortgage Corp. Mr. Cutri holds a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Real Estate Planning from the University of Southern California. 

Michael Fontaine is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Plaza, responsible for financial reporting and budgeting, treasury and cash management functions, information and technology systems, warehouse lending, legal and human resources. Before joining the Company in 2004, Mr. Fontaine was the Director of Finance for Enovation Graphic Systems, a subsidiary of Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. (2003-2004). He was responsible for the financial performance of the $100 million Western Region business segment. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Nelson-Keystone (1995-2003), a multi-state graphic arts distribution company that was sold to Enovation in 2003. Mr. Fontaine's career includes several senior financial positions in closely held companies, including a mortgage broker/banker, a clothing manufacturer, a communications and advertising company and a real estate development company. Mr. Fontaine is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Certified Mortgage Banker designation from the Mortgage Banking Association. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Science Degree in Accountancy from San Diego State University. 

Steve Nadon is the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Plaza. Mr. Nadon provides global support and direction for lending operations, branch operations and credit operations as well as overall strategic direction for the organization. Prior to joining Plaza in 2013, he was Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of O2 Funding/New Penn Financial LLC. Among the other prestigious roles in his career, Mr. Nadon served as Chief Operating Officer – Wholesale Division for Ocwen Loan Origination, President and Chief Operating Officer for Option One Mortgage and was selected by H&R Block Chairman/CEO to be Group President of the newly formed Consumer Financial Services Group. Other professional highlights include testifying before a House Financial Services Sub-Committee and serving on the MBA Board of Directors and Residential Board of Governors. 

Ralph LoVuolo, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Lending Operations, joined Plaza in 2010. He is responsible for Plaza's loan origination process and post closing process to ensure compliance with all of Plaza's policies and procedures. In addition, Ralph works with an operations team that provides daily support and direction to each of Plaza's Regional Operation Centers. Ralph is a third-generation financial services professional who began his mortgage lending career in 1989 as a Retail Loan Officer after graduating from Adelphi University. Prior to joining Plaza, Ralph held the position as Chief Underwriter for Ocwen Financial's Origination Division. He has also held management positions with companies such as Countrywide Financial and Option One Mortgage. In addition, he was President and Founder of a nationwide quality control company that provided post closing quality control reviews and compliance support for more than 280 mortgage companies in 33 states. Ralph holds a DE (Direct Endorsement) designation with HUD and a degree in Sociology from Adelphi University of New York. 

Julie Manson, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Risk Management, has oversight of the organization's compliance, quality control, licensing and internal auditing activities. Before joining Plaza in 2009, Ms. Manson held the position of Executive Vice President, Lending Division for Home Saving of America (2008). Previous to that, Ms. Manson was Senior Vice President Lending Operations and Credit Policy for SCME Mortgage Bankers (2000-2007). In these positions Ms. Manson was responsible for business strategy, credit policy, managing operations, compliance and policy development. Previous to that, Ms. Manson was with GMAC Mortgage Corporation (1983-1999), where she held the positions of Area Operations Manager, Sales and Operations Manager and Loan Processor. Ms. Manson holds a DE (Direct Endorsement) designation with HUD and has a degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. 

Michael Modell, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, oversees pipeline risk and is responsible for the overall management of Plaza's Secondary Marketing Department, including pricing, products, selling and delivering loans. Mr. Modell's industry career focus has been primarily pipeline risk management and mortgage-backed trading. Prior to joining Plaza in 2004, he was Assistant Vice President for Pasadena, California- based IndyMac Bank, where he was responsible for hedging a pipeline in excess of $2 billion of monthly rate locks. Previously, Mr. Modell was Corporate/CMBS Bond Trader for Countrywide Securities Corporation (1998-2003), where he created and developed a trading desk that regularly carried positions in excess of $100 million. Mr. Modell has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. In addition, Mr. Modell is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses. 

Karin Neidhart, Plaza's Senior Vice President of Credit, oversees National Underwriting, appraisal risk, credit risk and credit policy. She has more than 27 years of experience in the mortgage industry, including 18 years of underwriting experience. Prior to joining Plaza in 2000, Ms. Neidhart was Underwriting Manager for New America Financial's San Diego Wholesale Branch (1999-2000), and a Wholesale Senior Underwriter for Trust One Mortgage (1998-1999) and Oakmont Mortgage (1997-1998). Additional experience includes Senior Underwriter for North American Mortgage Company Builder Division, Underwriting Supervisor for First California Mortgage Western Region, and Government Underwriter for EMCA Mortgage and All Coast Financial, Inc. Ms. Neidhart holds a DE (Direct Endorsement) designation with HUD, VA Automatic (Veterans Administration Delegated Underwriter, Federal Housing Administration Direct Endorsement), and LAPP (Lender Appraisal Processing Program) designations. 

Lisa Brown-Conte is Vice President of Strategic Planning and Project Management at Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc. Her 25 years of strategic planning, project management and consulting experience spans a variety of industries including financial services, technology, healthcare and sponsored research. In the financial services space, Ms. Brown-Conte has most recently served as Director of the Program Management Office for Servicing at Option One Mortgage, Inc. (American Home Mortgage, Inc. since May 2008), as Director of the Project Management Office for Financial Services at Experian Consumer Direct Inc., and as a consultant on the Wells Fargo Bank/Wachovia bank integration. She has been with Plaza since January 2011. Ms. Brown-Conte holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Art History from Mount Holyoke College, a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, and Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificates from Villanova University. She also has taken graduate classes in Business and Technology at Harvard University. Ms. Brown-Conte is professionally affiliated with the Orange County Chapter of the Project Management Institute. 

Rich Martinson is the Vice President of Product Development at Plaza. His responsibilities include mortgage product development, Agency and investor relations and Mortgage Insurance relations. In addition, Mr. Martinson implemented and directs Plaza’s third party originator product and pricing portal. Prior to joining Plaza in 2008, Mr. Martinson held several management positions at Vertice, a Division of Wachovia Securities and successor to American Mortgage Network in San Diego, California (2002-2008). There, he was Assistant Vice President of Secondary Marketing and Product Development Manager as well as Specialty Lending Area Sales Manager. Previously, Mr. Martinson was with Wells Fargo Mortgage Resources (1997-2002) where he was a mortgage ope9206210?profile=originalrations analyst and underwriter. Mr. Martinson is a graduate of San Diego State University and holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics.
